Common Faults of Plate Heat Exchangers
Product News Published: 2011-05-26 Source: admin Views: 51

Faults that easily occur in plate heat exchangers can be basically analyzed from the following four points:

1. Mainly manifested as seepage (small amount, discontinuous water drops) and leakage (larger amount, continuous water drops). The main locations of external leakage are the sealing between plates, the leakage groove of the secondary seal, and the inner side of the end plate and compression plate.

2. Cross leakage: The main characteristic is that the medium on the high-pressure side penetrates into the medium on the low-pressure side, causing abnormal pressure and temperature in the system. If the medium is corrosive, it may also cause corrosion of other equipment in the pipeline. Cross leakage usually occurs in the flow guide area or secondary seal area.

3. Excessive pressure drop: The pressure drop between the medium inlet and outlet exceeds the design requirements, even exceeding the design value by many times, seriously affecting the system's requirements for flow rate and temperature. In a heating system, if the pressure drop on the hot side is too large, the flow rate on the primary side will be severely insufficient, meaning the heat source is inadequate, resulting in the outlet temperature on the secondary side being unable to meet the requirements.

4. Heating temperature fails to meet requirements: The main characteristic is that the outlet temperature is too low and fails to reach the design requirements.
